Pathoxphere at the XXIV Congress of AITIM: the digital health revolution and the contribution of the URINE24 Model

On November 30, 2024, Matteo Botteghi, president of Pathoxphere, took part in the XXIV National Congress of AITIM (Italian Association of Telemedicine and Medical Informatics), making an important contribution to the debate on the digital transformation of healthcare. The event, held in Lamezia Terme, was attended by experts, researchers and professionals in the sector, committed to exploring the future of telemedicine and medical informatics in an era of intense digitization, also driven by investments from the PNRR.

The presentation on the Model URINE24

As part of the congress, Matteo Botteghi presented a speech entitled *”Enhancement of Cytology Through Pathomics: the URINE24 Model”*. This innovative technology represents one of the main applications of pathomics – a discipline that uses artificial intelligence and big data analysis to improve pathological diagnostics. Model URINE24 focuses on urinary cytology, a field that is often critical for the early detection of diseases such as bladder cancer. Thanks to the use of advanced algorithms and computational analysis, URINE24 allows for a more accurate and timely classification of cells, reducing diagnostic errors and response times.

Digital health in the context of the PNRR

The AITIM Congress highlighted how digitalisation has become a fundamental pillar for Italian healthcare. PNRR funds are promoting a wide adoption of innovative technologies, from telemedicine to advanced medical informatics, with the aim of improving access to care, reducing territorial inequalities and optimizing resources. In this panorama, Pathoxphere stands out as a protagonist in the development of solutions that combine technological innovation and scientific research. The URINE24 Model is a concrete example of this: a platform that could revolutionize the way cytological examinations are conducted, ensuring greater precision and sustainability in diagnostic processes.

Looking to the future

Pathoxphere’s participation in the XXIV AITIM Congress confirms the company’s central role in shaping the future of digital health. Matteo Botteghi stressed in his speech that the success of this transition does not depend only on technology, but also on the ability to create a collaborative ecosystem between institutions, companies and healthcare professionals. The URINE24 Model is just the beginning of a path that aims to integrate more and more pathomics and artificial intelligence into daily clinical practices. With an approach based on innovation and sustainability, Pathoxphere is poised to contribute to building more efficient, equitable and patient-centered healthcare.
